The Pierre Govs and the Lady Govs competed in the cross country state finals in Rapid City over the weekend.
On the boys side they would finish in 10th place, winning the state championship was Sioux Falls Washington followed by Lincoln and O’Gorman took third.
The top runner for the boys was Caleb Lusk who finished 27th with a time 17:13.49. Tucker Berens took 59th place with a time of 18:12.95. Alejandro Ramirez was able to take 61st place with a time of 18:15.18. Lincoln Turman would finish in 78th place, Isaac Polak finished 86th, Tyler Gere finished 88th and Ethan Gilk took 99th place.
On the girls side as a team would finish in 11th place, winning the state championship was Brandon Valley followed by Sioux Falls Lincoln and third was Aberdeen Central.
Hunter Martell was the top runner for the girls as she finished 23rd with a time of 19:53.75. Autumn Iverson finished in 52nd with a time of 20:48.79 and Kyla Keyes took 53rd with a time of 20:50.88. Halli Drewes finished 76th, Jessica Lutmer finished 80th, Emma Lusk finished 101st and Morgan Oedekoven took 108th.
