The Herreid Selby Area Wolverines came out strong, and pushed their season record to 25-2, thanks to a 25-14, 20-25, 25-13, 25-17 victory Tuesday night over the Sully Buttes Chargers in Selby.
Strong net play by the Wolverines front line kept the Chargers at bay for an attack offense, and the HSA defense was able to keep rallies alive against Charger tip shots.
Leading the way for Herreid Selby Area in kills was Madalyn Schumacher, who tallied twelve, while Charlie Tisdall and Rachel Fiedler contributed ten kills apiece.
For Sully Buttes—now 17-6 on the season, junior Lauren Wittler led the way in kills with ten. The Chargers will close out the regular season Friday night in Onida taking on Region Three opponent Hitchcock Tulare. The finale will be a Pink Night in Sully Buttes Gym, as the Chargers encourage everyone to wear pink to the game, and help with fundraising for research during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Herreid Selby Area sits atop Region 2B, while the Chargers are second, as the teams finish off the regular season and gear up for post season play.
