Stanley County School Board Gets Report On Math & Language Proficiency Testing

Proficiency test scores for the Stanley County School district were reviewed Monday night by the Stanley County School Board of Education. Superintendent Dr. Joel Price went over three years’ worth of scores for multiple grades in math and English Language Arts or E-L-A. Price says threes and fours are the scores they want to see….

Price says the scores are very uneven with some falling and some rebounding…

Price says he wants to see improvement next year…

Price is hopeful changes made by the Board of Regents regarding credit for college courses taken at the high school level may jumpstart better scores as better testing scores are required to obtain the credit and in turn, save money on tuition. Results for science test scores have not been released yet to school districts across the state, but Price says he will present those to the Board when available.
